Hot out of the oven, the 997 facelift was officially unveiled early last month, and now, spy photographers have caught the next generation platform, speculated as type 998. At first glance, the prototype seen in these photos, wears the body of the current 997 generation, but closer inspection shows a roll cage, fender extensions, which indicate a wider wheel base, and imprecisely fitting exhaust pipes. The next generation 911 is expected to hit in 2011.
