In 2009 Citroen will expand its Picasso range from the C4 and Xsara versions and introduce the C3 Picasso. It will be unveiled for the first time at the brands home show in Paris next month and our initial reaction is this new model looks great, a far cry from the boring conservative Picasso variants already found in Citroen's line-up. The Picasso line-up has a reputation for class leading space and the C3 Picasso is no inception. 4.08 meters in length, 1.73 meters wide and 1.62 meters tall gives the model enough room for a cargo area of up to 1,506 liters when the rear seats are folded down, 500 liters when they are up. There will be a total of four engines available at launch: two gasoline and two diesel. The gasoline engines which have been co-developed with BMW options will start with the are the new generation Vti 95 and Vti 120, no details have been released on these engines yet other than to state its efficiency in the fuel economy and CO2 emissions areas. The diesel options: Hdi 90 and Hdi 110 come from Citroen's already existing line-up and they offer combined CO2 emissions of 125g/km and 130g/km respectively. Pricing is yet to be released for the new model but it is expected to start at around £11,000.
