Joining the ranks of BMW, Porsche, Alfa Romeo and Mercedes, Aston Martin's new Nürburgring Test Centre is fully operational. First announced back in February, the 2400 m2 workshop and showroom provides logistical support to customers and factory race teams, but most importantly to engineers for industry pool weeks to test prototypes and current products. Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer Dr Ulrich Bez states, "The Nürburgring has played an important part in the development of our cars in recent years and of course we have a fine racing pedigree here too. We are therefore extremely pleased to be able to demonstrate our bond with the Nürburgring even more clearly by extending our involvement." Located adjacent to the legendary Nordschleife circuit, the DBS, DB9, V8 Vantage and forthcoming Rapide and V12 Vantage have all benefited from development at the Nürburgring, as a mandatory 10,000km durability test period is imposed by Aston Martin R&D bosses.
